Apellis is focusing on developing treatment to prevent progression of dry age-related macular degeneration to geographic atrophy. It is a necessary treatment for many patients that progress with vision loss and disease progression despite compliance with AREDS.

Newsom Eye Medical Retina Specialist, Matthew Donovan, MD has experience as an investigator with this treatment during his fellowship at Bascom Palmer and looks forward to towards integrating it into the retina practice at Newsom Eye.

The keynote speaker for the event is Caroline R. Baumal, MD, FRCRS Professor at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. This is not for CE credit.
